At a division-level progress review meeting held at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belgaum, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that officials should stop crowding people into offices and ensure that government services reach people's doorsteps. With the demand for power increasing amid the drought situation caused by lack of rain in the state, CM DK Shivakumar held an emergency meeting to take precautionary measures to prevent power shortage. In the meeting, the officials have been instructed to complete the necessary preparations and ensure continuous power supply to the people of the state. A comprehensive discussion was held in the meeting on power generation, supply, water level of reservoirs and alternative systems.
