The effects of heavy rains in Maharashtra's Western Ghats have also been seen in Nippani. Many connecting bridges are flooded, causing disruption to traffic. Officials have warned the public not to cross flooded bridges unnecessarily due to the overflowing of rivers and streams and the high water flow on the bridges. Keeping in mind the rainy situation, they have been requested to use safe routes.
The continuous heavy rains in the Ghats have revived the Krishna river, which has been dry for about two months. The river is currently receiving an inflow of 15,000 cusecs, leading to a rise in water levels in reservoirs and riverbanks.
