There is growing concern about the safety of devotees at Shivagange Hill, known as Dakshina Kashi. Locals and tourists have complained that the iron bars installed on the way to climb the hill have rusted and are in a state of disrepair, breaking at many places.
From June 1 to August 31, Dandeli's major adventure activities such as scuba diving and river rafting, including many tourist attractions, have been temporarily closed.
