The state government has emphasized on precautionary measures to face the challenges that may arise due to the possible Super El Nino effect. In this context, Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwar held an important meeting with his authorities and had a comprehensive discussion on many important issues including lack of rainfall, availability of drinking water, provision of fodder for cattle.
The pre-monsoon is strong in Karnataka and the Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains with thunderstorms in the next five to six days. The intensity of the rains is likely to increase in many parts of the state.
