The inflow into the reservoir has decreased sharply due to the lack of expected rainfall in the Tungabhadra basin so far. Due to this, the water storage in the reservoir is not saturated and it is not possible to release water through canals for monsoon crops at present, officials said in a statement. Farmers have been requested to plan their crops keeping in mind the situation.
