The Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the coastal and Malnad parts of Karnataka for the next few days. A 'red alert' has been declared in several districts including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada and people have been advised to take necessary precautions.
