During the formation of linguistic regions, the Parliament passed a law under Articles 3 and 4 of the Indian Constitution and included Belgaum in Karnataka. Therefore, Belgaum is an integral part of Karnataka and the decision to be taken in this regard will not fall under the jurisdiction of sub judice, said Supreme Court lawyer Mohan Kataraki.
