Major reservoirs in Karnataka have received support from rain water and there has been a slight increase in water storage levels. Due to the rains in many parts of the state, the inflow to major dams has increased, here is the current water level of the reservoirs.
The rainfall situation in the state has improved and water is flowing into the reservoirs in good quantities, said Forest and District In-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi. He said that the concerns about the lack of rain have now reduced and water availability is gradually improving.
With the demand for power increasing amid the drought situation caused by lack of rain in the state, CM DK Shivakumar held an emergency meeting to take precautionary measures to prevent power shortage. In the meeting, the officials have been instructed to complete the necessary preparations and ensure continuous power supply to the people of the state. A comprehensive discussion was held in the meeting on power generation, supply, water level of reservoirs and alternative systems.
