Amid the lack of rain in the state and the threat of drought, the government has made preparations to conduct cloud seeding in Haveri district for three months from July 7. Necessary arrangements have been completed for this special operation, which is being carried out with the aim of increasing the chances of rain, and cloud seeding is being carried out under the supervision of experts according to the weather conditions.
The rainfall situation in the state has improved and water is flowing into the reservoirs in good quantities, said Forest and District In-charge Minister Satish Jarkiholi. He said that the concerns about the lack of rain have now reduced and water availability is gradually improving.
With the demand for power increasing amid the drought situation caused by lack of rain in the state, CM DK Shivakumar held an emergency meeting to take precautionary measures to prevent power shortage. In the meeting, the officials have been instructed to complete the necessary preparations and ensure continuous power supply to the people of the state. A comprehensive discussion was held in the meeting on power generation, supply, water level of reservoirs and alternative systems.
Heavy rains continue in many districts of the state. Water enters homes, disrupting normal life, and bridges collapse in some places, causing traffic disruption.
