Home Minister Priyank Kharge has clarified the government's stand on the upcoming RSS annual meet in Belgaum. He said that the government will not compromise on any issue related to law and order.
Mohan Bhagwat, who arrived at the Sambra airport in Belgaum on Monday evening by a special flight from Hyderabad, was warmly welcomed by RSS pracharaks, field pracharaks and Sangh leaders. In view of his seven-day stay in Belgaum, strict security has been imposed in the city, and a two-km radius around his place of stay has been declared a red zone.
Defending the decision to cancel the event at Karnataka State Open University, Higher Education Minister M C Sudhakar said public universities must remain apolitical.
