As a precautionary measure, the district administration has declared a holiday for all Anganwadis, primary and high schools and pre-university colleges in the district today (July 18) in the wake of the Indian Meteorological Department's 'Orange Alert' in Dakshina Kannada district. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the possibility of heavy rain.
In view of the continuous heavy rains, keeping in mind the safety of students, all Anganwadi centers, primary and high schools and PUC (up to class 12) colleges in Khanapur taluk of Belgaum district have been declared holiday on Tuesday (July 7). District Collector Mohammad Roshan has issued an official order in this regard.
Schools have been declared closed on June 25 in view of the inauguration of new crest gates of Tungabhadra reservoir. This decision has been taken due to security measures and necessary precautions have been taken for the public.
