Alleging irregularities worth Rs 225 crore in the Grihalakshmi scheme, Opposition Leader R. Ashok has urged the government to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. He has expressed suspicion that serious irregularities have taken place in the financial transactions of the scheme and demanded that the truth be revealed and strict action be taken against the guilty.
The state government's guarantee scheme review campaign has been launched and officials will visit every house to review the information of the beneficiaries of the Grihalakshmi scheme. During this time, a self-declaration letter will be obtained from the owners and the eligibility of the scheme and the accuracy of the information will be ensured.
The state government has taken a significant step to further strengthen the state's public transport system. Minister Bhairati Suresh said that 1,000 new buses will be purchased from state funds.
