A landslide occurred in the Shiradi Ghat area due to heavy rains in Hassan district. Although mud and stones fell on the road, vehicular traffic continued as usual due to the quick evacuation operation.
Raigad, July 6: The India Meteorological Department has issued a 'red alert' in Maharashtra's Raigad district in the wake of the possibility of heavy to very frequent rainfall for the next two days. The district administration has advised the public to take necessary precautions and appealed to residents living in low-lying areas, river banks and hilly areas to be vigilant.
Due to road works, possibility of landslides or other safety reasons on the Thirthahalli-Udupi route, traffic is being disrupted, and the public travelling on this route has been advised to use alternative routes, the District Collector has ordered.
